Winter Opening Times: Thursday – Sunday 10am – 4pm
Through the kind support of the Bodfach Trust we have been able to transform the former ‘men’s day room’, into a gallery space. It will provide a platform for the regional and national creative industries to display and sell their work.
There is a frenzy of activity here at the moment getting it ready for the opening of this first phase, and there is still going to be a lot to do in the future, so why not be part of it and get in touch.
The first exhibition represents a selection of local and regional artists and designers, working in a variety of mediums and materials. Come down and have a look for something unique to give as a gift this Christmas, or maybe just a treat for yourself.
The space has been created to be as flexible and versatile as possible, and we are planning a number of varied exhibitions, activities and workshops over the next twelve months. If you have an idea or would like to use the space for a workshop or exhibition, please get in touch with the project team.
The renovation of the physical space has been an arduous task and has been done over a series of volunteer days and would have been impossible if not for the concerted daily hard graft of John, Ben, Stuey, Bryan and the rest of the team.
The concrete render has been removed and replaced with a breathable lime one. The many broken windowpanes have been replaced and a mezzanine floor creating a double height space. The old iron Victorian frames are all warped in shape and each individual pane has had to be cut by hand. Doors, stairways, windows and fireplaces have been hand made and refitted. Everything has been done to be as in keeping with the original features as possible.
