The Llanfyllin Workhouse has been awarded an It’s Your Community Award for £1000 to create a community garden. Within one of the Workhouse Courtyards lies a derelict space which over the last few months has become the focus of a huge effort to turn it into a memorial garden to remember and respect all those that lived in the Llanfyllin Union Workhouse.
On 22nd April Students from the Welsh School of Architecture in Cardiff visited the Workhouse in Llanfyllin as part of their studies into sustainable communities in the context of heritage. They began their field trip helping out as volunteers on the current building works which are being carried out.
